RIP: Comedian Jonathan Winters Dies at 87

By April 12, 2013

Famous comedian and actor Jonathan Winters, died on Thursday at his home in Montecito, Calif. He was 87 years old.

You may remember him from his role on Mork & Mindy as their son Mearth from Earth.

But he was also a hilarious comedian.

And a favorite of Johnny Carson, often appearing on the original Tonight Show.

Mr. Winters was famous for his characters like Elwood P. Suggins, a Midwestern Everyman, or one-off creations like the woodland sprite who bounded onto Jack Paar’s late-night show and simperingly proclaimed: “I’m the voice of spring. I bring you little goodies from the forest.”

He made countless appearances in television shows and films.

We remember him fondly and he will be missed.
