One of the biggest points of speculation and theorizing for fans from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, before the movie itself even came out, was Bruce Wayne’s shrine in the Batcave, of a Robin suit that featured a spray painted taunt from none other than The Joker himself. Obviously, the message itself was clear, and those who have followed the Batman lore well, knew the history of events being hinted at in that glass case.

However, what was never officially confirmed, was which Robin the suit might have belonged to, since there have been several characters to take on the Robin mantle in the comics, including Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, and Tim Drake possibly being the most notable versions.

During a recent video posted to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Facebook Page (via HH) though, a tour guide seems to confirm once and for all that the dead Robin in the DCCU is Jason Todd, as many fans had speculated:

“This was one of the big things from Batman v Superman, right across this way. The Jason Todd Robin suit. Spray painted on the front ‘Ha ha. The joke’s on you Batman’. Those of you that know the storyline, know what happened to this Robin.”

Now this doesn’t necessarily come as that big of a surprise considering many fans had already assumed that this version of Robin was Jason Todd, but it does leave the door open to many more possibilities now, than any of the other Robins could.

As many fans will remember, in the comics Jason Todd was captured and killed by The Joker, before being brought back years later in the comics as the Red Hood, a storyline that many believe Batman v Superman had set up to be told on the big screen for the first time. Many have even speculated that Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie, if told before the events of Dawn of Justice, could follow a younger Bruce fighting alongside Jason, before the character’s death, which could help to make up for some of his incredible darkness in the film.

It’s impossible to know right now, which direction this could all take. Some fans have even speculated that Jared Leto’s remarkably younger version of The Joker could even be Jason Todd himself, who went crazy at the hands of the original Joker, before taking on his mantle. It’s not a theory I personally believe or support all that much, but knowing that the dead Robin is Todd, means that the filmmakers could very well be setting that storyline up to be told again later down the line. Which is an exciting possibility for fans of the Red Hood storyline.
