‘Rogue One – A Star Wars Story’ Trailer Unveils Darth Vader

By August 12, 2016

With just a few more months to do until its release, Disney and Lucasfilm have unveiled the brand new trailer for Rogue One – A Star Wars Story during the Olympic Games, and watch out everyone, because a certain Sith Lord is back… even if it is only for a quick blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot near the end. Though at this point, did you really expect anything else?

In addition to the reveal of Vader though, the new trailer shows off some of the film’s more impressive battle sequences and visual effects, as well as more character moments and insight into the story than we’ve gotten before.

Check out the new trailer below:

If I’m being completely honest, the character and cast member that continues to excite me the most in Rogue One is Ben Mendelsohn’s Director Krennic. We still have yet to hear him speak a single line in any of the trailers for the film, and while I feel like a majority of the attention has been put on Vader’s role, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mendelsohn ends up stealing the show as Krennic here.

The trailer is simple and straightforward, and it’s nice to actually see more from the film’s characters than just quick flashes and shots. I don’t think that it’s anything to necessarily write home about, but in terms of keeping awareness for the movie up in the Fall months, I’d say it does its job. Nothing more, nothing less.

Rogue One – A Star Wars Story is set to hit theatres on December 16th.
