Ryan Reynolds Fulfills Wishes as Deadpool

By May 24, 2015

Actor Ryan Reynolds has a reputation for having a soft spot for his younger fans, and he seems to be embracing it even more as he is shooting his latest comic book film.

On the set of 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool in Vancouver, British Columbia, Reynolds fulfilled the wishes of two fans who wanted their opportunity to meet Marvel’s “Merc With a Mouth.” The first fan, young Hodgkin’s disease patient Tony Acevedo, asked the Make A Wish Foundation if he could meet Deadpool himself. The actual moment was caught in a heartwarming post on Instagram, where Tony not only got to meet Reynolds in full costume, but he also got to wear his mask, too. See the post below:

Reynolds also captured the moment of another wish being fulfilled for 15-year old Calista King, who not only got the chance to have a walk-on role in the 2016 film, she got to take Deadpool’s sword home with her. King, who’s afflicted with a brain tumor, definitely looks pleased at the fact that she’s taking home one of Wade Wilson’s most important tools in his fight against…well, in his fight. That’s definitely a prized memento for anyone who’s a fan of the bizarre, fourth-wall-breaking mercenary.

Deadpool will open in theaters on February 25th, 2016. For more on the film as it develops, keep an eye on GeekNation!
