SAG Awards 2016 Complete List of Winners

The 2016 SAG Award Winners was announced last night adding more fuel to the Oscar fire. Leonardo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, Idris Elba, and Alicia Vikander all won the acting awards giving DiCaprio, Larson, and Vikander a clear edge to take home the Academy Award next month. Of course, Idris Elba was not nominated for an Oscar – there’s that #OscarsSoWhite controversy again.

For best picture, which is classified as ‘Best Ensemble’ for a SAG award, went to Spotlight. Could the same happen for Best Picture at the Oscars?

On the television side of things, Orange is the New Black and Downton Abbey won ensemble awards with Jeffrey Tambor taking best actor in a comedy for Transparent. Uzo Aduba won best actress in a comedy for Orange is the New Black with Kevin Spacey winning best actor in a drama for House of Cards. Viola Davis took home best actress in a drama for How to Get Away with Murder. Meanwhile, Idris Elba won a second award that night for his role in a limited series for Luther.

The SAG Awards also did a tribute to Carol Burnett, who was presented with the Life Achievement Award.
