San Diego Comic-Con Is Out For Blood

By July 5, 2012

If you’re going to be in San Diego for Comic-Con you might want to consider taking a little bit of your time and do a good deed by donating blood to the San Diego Blood Bank.

Last year the San Diego Blood Bank and Comic-Con drained victims of 1,269 pints of delicious human blood over the course of the convention. This year they are hoping for more blood! The Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive is celebrating 35 years of draining humans at San Diego Comic-Con. It started way back in 1977, and that first year,  they collected 148 pints of blood. Since then they have drained humans of 11,075 pints of warm, delicious red blood.

Let’s hope no vampires hear about this, or it could get ugly.

The Blood Drive is open from 9:00 am-6:00 pm Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and 10:00 am-3:00 pm on Sunday. If you want to volunteer to be drained you simply go over to the Omni San Diego Hotel’s Gallery at 628 L Street, across the street from the hotel (opposite the Convention Center).

Donating blood will only eat up about 45 minutes of your day and you can make a reservation online, so you don’t have to wait.

Thursday, July 12th

Friday, July 13th

Saturday, July 14th

Sunday, July 15th

Simply select the day you’d like to donate and make your reservation.
