SDCC Panel: Once More, with Comics: How the Whedon Universes Continue in Comic Book Form!

By July 10, 2012

I, Action Flick Chick, have put together a couple of fantastic panels for SDCC this year. One of them is for the Comics Arts Conference and will feature some distinguished writers, editors, and actors from the Whedon worlds. The panel is titled, “Once More, with Comics: How the Whedon Universes Continue in Comic Book Form” and will be moderated by yours truly.

Joining the discussion and giving brief presentations on the topic will be scholars Traci Cohen (CSU-Sacramento) and Jennifer Stuller (Ink-StainedAmazon and Cinematic Warriors, GeekGirlCon). From the comic book side, we will have Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 9 editor Scott Allie from Dark Horse, IDW editor Mariah Heuhner, Angel & Faith writer Chris Gage, Buffy television show writer/producer Jane Espenson, and Willow and Tara writer Amber Benson (who also played the character Tara in Buffy television show).

The panel isn’t only full of writers, though. Actors from the television show will also be joining the panel to discuss the move of Whedon’s creations from TV to comics. These actors include Tom Lenk, who played Andrew, and GeekNation’s own Clare Kramer, who played Glory.

Come join the fun Thursday July 12, 2012 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm in room 26AB.

This is the Action Flick Chick, and you’ve just been kicked in the ass!

Katrina Hill is, first and foremost, a lover of all things action. She's been in love with the action genre since a young age, taking influence from action stars both new and old, from Stallone and Schwarzeneggar to Statham, and even independent action stars such as Tony Jaa. Katrina Hill has quickly become known as the go to source for action movie news, reviews, and interviews.
