Already, Marvel’s Black Panther solo movie is shaping itself up to be the studio’s most impressive addition to the MCU yet, with cast members including Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, as well as the assumed appearances from both Martin Freeman or Andy Serkis. Not to mention that Creed and Fruitvale Station helmer, Ryan Coogler, is writing and directing the movie as well, which is still, the best news ever.

One of the most mysterious parts of the film though, and one that has been subject to heavy amounts of speculation following T’Challa’s introduction in Captain America: Civil War, is what (if any) other Marvel characters or heroes we might want to expect to see in the film. With a majority of the Avengers currently hiding out in Wakanda right now, I imagine the possibilities are fairly wide open.

During a recent panel with Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie at Wizard World Philadelphia as well, The Winter Soldier himself, Sebastian Stan, teased the possibility of a possible appearance from Bucky in the Panther standalone, in response to a fan’s question, asking him which other non-Captain America or Avengers movie he’d most like to appear in (H/T

“I don’t know, man. I mean, there’s obviously a very clear answer but I’m not maybe say it, now… Where did he end up at the end of the movie? That’s the movie he should be in.I feel like that would be the natural… But I don’t know.”

Stan does bring up a great point, and after Panther and Bucky’s tense fights and interactions in Civil War, it would be interesting to see how he could possibly fit into the plot of Black Panther, and how it might further his character development as well, in addition to T’Challa’s. Is it possible that helping the King of Wakanda and his country could be yet another step in the right direction for Bucky in his rehabilitation process? I don’t know, but it’s an exciting thought, isn’t it?

Black Panther is set to hit theatres on February 2nd, 2018.
