Spider-Man Poses On Times Square’s Ball Before It Drops for New Year’s Eve

By December 31, 2013

Spidey New Year's

I’ve heard New York City has been a madhouse for the past few days as tourists roll in to celebrate New Year’s Eve tonight. But while everyone will get a chance to watch the ball drop, there’s only one superhero who climbed his way up to the top of the ball itself: that’s right, it was your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Not that Daredevil, Johnny Storm, or any number of other NYC-based heroes couldn’t have done it too, but Spidey’s the only one with a movie coming out this May and he’s got some promoting to do.

If you’re a Spider-Man fan with your eyes glued to the TV while you’re ringing in the new year tonight, be sure to keep a special lookout for your favorite webslinger at the following times (via /Film and Times Square):

9:57 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Hourly Countdown with Spider-Man
As we approach the New Year, Spider-Man joined by Marc Webb, the Director of The Amazing Spider-Man 2™ movie will appear at the Nivea Countdown Stage to wish the Times Square revelers “Happy New Year”; and lead the ten second countdown to the 10 o’clock hour accompanied by colorful pyrotechnic effects atop One Times Square. Marc will also read some of the Confetti Wishes to be mixed into the confetti release at midnight and share his wish for the New Year. After the countdown, a Happy New Year video message from Emma Stone will be featured.
