Yesterday, some new images and details were revealed regarding the deleted scenes set to be featured on the blu ray and dvd of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. They included new looks at Kylo Ren searching the Millennium Falcon for his father, Han, Chewie, and Finn trapped in the basement of Maz Kanata’s during the First Order raid, and more.

Now, Disney has unveiled a new teaser trailer for the DVD, giving us a much better look at some of the film’s deleted scenes that we can look forward to checking out in just a few short weeks. Check out the trailer below:

The deleted scenes wil include:

  • Stormtrooper Finn’s run-in with a Jakku village woman in the opening attack.
  • Han, Finn, and Chewie face down a squadron of stormtroopers in Maz Kanata’s basement.
  • Kylo Ren leads snowtroopers to the crashed Millennium Falcon at Starkiller Base, and has an emotional remembrance inside.
  • General Leia is introduced earlier in the film, as Major Brance (Emun Elliott) gets a distress signal from BB-8 informing them of the attack on the Jakku village.
  • Poe Dameron and the other X-Wings prepare for lightspeed as they head into battle, giving us a chance to see starships in space.
  • Finn and Rey escape Starkiller base on a First Order snowspeeder, while another gives chase.
  • Rey gets an update on an injured Finn’s condition from Dr. Kalonia (Harriet Walton).

Out of all of the deleted scenes that they probably had to choose from, it will be interesting to see why Abrams and co. chose to let fans see these, especially since a number of them seem to be made up of in-between moments and sequences that were clearly not necessary in the theatrical cut. I already like seeing more from Lupita Nyong’o’s Maz though, who seemed to have a much larger presence in the film from both the trailers and promotional materials than she ended up having in the theatrical version.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be available on Blu ray and DVD on April 5th.
