Stephen Amell on the Fate of Arrow, Whether He’d be in a Marvel Movie

By December 16, 2015

The always social savvy Stephen Amell was talking on his Facebook page as he is one to do when some interesting topics came up. Apparently becoming the face of DC’s The Arrow isn’t going to stop Amell from accepting other super hero roles, including those happier and less brooding dudes from across the street at Marvel.

Responding to a question from a fan about maybe working a Marvel movie, Amell said:

Sure, why not?  I’m up for roles – movie roles – although I’ve never really read Marvel Comics and I was always a DC guy even before I was a DC guy. But it’s not like if I got offered an awesome Marvel superhero, I’d be like ‘No, I can’t.’

Casting time b*tches! I’m not psycho crazy enough to scream “No way. He’s the Arrow. He can’t be two superheroes” but I think the Arrow playing Hawkeye would be a bit much right? He might as well just switch from a green hoodie to a purple one and jump from set to set. Besides, he’d get really tired of arrows and stuff.

In all actuality though, Stephen Amell is a true badass who I’d like to see play a lot of roles. Being really honest? It’s total bullsh*t that DC didn’t let him play Arrow in the Justice League. Did you notice he specified  movie roles? I think he knows what he brings to the table. I think he may be done with TV when Arrow ends.

Speaking of Arrow ends. Or uh, Arrow ending (you get the point) Amell also talked about the fate of the show since we are going into Season 5 of a show that was built for 5 seasons.

We were always built to be a five year show, which is a very courageous thing to plan for when you’re just in the pilot stages of something. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t go six or seven. I can’t really picture beyond that. But we’ll see. I’m having a blast.

Pretty honest answer. Pretty cool dude all around. Great abs. Wait, what? Anyways, shows have proven to get pretty far reaching if they go on for too long (True Blood). So while I love Arrow I think 5 or 6 max would do the trick. Amell is also slated to be in Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows as Casey Jones out next year. (Great casting by the way). He’s an awesome guy obviously and I can’t wait to see what he does next.
