Supergirl is set to come back with a serious bang in its second season, not only because of its transition from CBS to the CW, but also with the official introduction of Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman in the new season as well, after only appearing as an out-of-frame character whenever he showed up in the first season. How exactly his role in the show will be expanded upon, especially in terms of potential crossovers with other DC TV shows is currently unknown, but it looks like he won’t be the only one going out of town for a family reunion.

Some new set photos from the second season production of the show have surfaced online recently, and it looks like in addition to returning to her beloved National City next season, Melissa Benoist’s Kara Danvers/Supergirl will also be paying a visit to none other than Metropolis as well.

Check out the photos online (H/T Comicbook.com):

In addition, a new photo of LuthorCorp has been revealed as well, which could play into the new season’s overall story, as Lex Luthor’s sister is set to be introduced. Notice that the TV version is different than the LexCorp name in Batman v Superman also:

Finally, here’s a few more that popped up as well, showing Hoechlin and Benoist on set together and even one of him striking the iconic, shirt-ripping-open moment we all know, love, and associate with the Man of Steel:

Not a bad way to start off your Thursday morning, am I right?

We already know that a mega-crossover between The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow is in the works for the new seasons of each show as well, thanks to a confirmation several months ago, but it’s still unclear if Hoechlin’s Superman might factor into that at all or not.

I have a feeling that it’ll focus more on Kara interacting with the other heroes, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t at least want to see the Man of Steel share the screen with some of his fellow Justice League members, even if it didn’t really amount to anything substantial. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Season 2 of Supergirl is set to premiere on the CW on Monday, October 10th.

Supergirl is so so so bad.
The acting and writing are cringe worthy bad. 2 Broke Girls bad….ok not that bad but still..
The crossover episode with The Flash was laughable.
That is all now get off the net and go back to work
