SXSW: Drafthouse Films Picks Up Cheap Thrills

  0 is reporting the first deal to come out of this year’s SXSW festival. Looks like Drafthouse Films and Snoot Entertainment won the exclusive rights to Cheap Thrills in what was a rare bidding war. The film is written by David Chirchirillo, Trent Haaga, directed by E.L. Katz and stars Pat Healy, David Koechner, Sara Paxton, and Ethan Embry.

The film is a “twisted comedy thriller about a working class family man tempted by a rich couple into a series of escalating bets.”
