Deadline.com is reporting the first deal to come out of this year’s SXSW festival. Looks like Drafthouse Films and Snoot Entertainment won the exclusive rights to Cheap Thrills in what was a rare bidding war. The film is written by David Chirchirillo, Trent Haaga, directed by E.L. Katz and stars Pat Healy, David Koechner, Sara Paxton, and Ethan Embry.

The film is a “twisted comedy thriller about a working class family man tempted by a rich couple into a series of escalating bets.”
