Honestly, there’s nothing too shocking here. It’s virtually the same old, same old. I am happy to see Jon Hamm finally get the recognition he deserves for playing Don Draper so masterfully on AMC’s Mad Men. It’s also great to see Viola Davis get recognized for her fantastic work on How To Get Away With Murder. Although I don’t watch the show, I hear that it’s pretty good, in that soap opera/Shonda Rhimes kind of way. Other than that, there were no real shockers in any of the categories. That’s not surprising, however, as the Emmy’s are usually a pretty predictable bunch. Maybe next year they’ll mix things up, although I wouldn’t really hold my breath.
