If put to series, it will adapt the popular Boom! Studios graphic novel from James Tynion IV and Michael Dialynas.
SPOILERS: Writing twists is not easy, especially in today’s mass social media age. But that doesn’t mean you should give up either, Michael Hinman says.
No other studio has planned a film for that weekend, and they probably won’t. Early October is usually not a huge moviegoing time.
Paramount Pictures desperately needs a hit after a tough year where only ‘Star Trek: Beyond’ amounted to much of anything at the box office.
And he talks about working on the script with Geoff Johns and James Wan..
Yes. Because more of Michael K. Williams in anything is never a bad thing.
Did you really think it’d be anyone else?
Will Johns be the DCCU’s savior after all?
It’s hard not to see a director like Wan this excited for a movie, without getting excited too.
Well this should be interesting…
The DC drama continues…
With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice finally out, the real work on the rest of the DCCU can begin now, whether it be in promoting and finishing next…
Back in January, Warner Bros. and DC announced the casting of actress Amber Heard in their DC Cinematic Universe, playing the wife of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Mera. The character was rumored to be making her onscreen debut in next year’s Justice League Part One though, before having a much more substantial role in the 2018 Aquaman standalone film.
While recently speaking with Entertainment Tonight as well, Heard confirmed her role as Mera in the 2017 team-up film, before going on to describe her costume as the following:
It’s interesting. It’s like, half suit of armor, half scales. It’s strange… We’re in the process of building it now, so it’s coming along.”

Mera in the comics, is the love interest of Aquaman who eventually becomes the Queen of Atlantis. The standalone film will also star Momoa in the titular lead role, and will be director by Furious 7 and The Conjuring filmmaker, James Wan.
With Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Heard’s Mera, and more already set to be introduced into the DCCU by the end of 2017, it looks like the studio is working hard to integrate as many strong female roles as they can with the films that they have, something that has been seriously lacking from a number of blockbuster superhero films over the past few years.
It’s hard to say what we can expect to see from Mera’s onscreen iteration this far out as well, but if she’s going to be the onscreen wife of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, then we can only assume she’ll leave a lasting impression following her introduction next year.
Justice League Part One is set for release on November 10th, 2017, with the Aquaman standalone film hitting theatres on July 27th, 2018.
