Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens is still months away, but that doesn’t mean the movie isn’t being discussed every single day by fans everywhere. Long have the faithful waited for a sequel to the original trilogy with many wondering what had become of Luke, Han and Leia and if they lived happily ever after.
When Disney bought the rights from Lucasfilm and hired JJ Abrams, they made it clear to fans everywhere that Star Wars was back in a big way. And up until now, the marketing blitz has been fairly tame. With two teasers spaced months apart, a Instagram post and a grand event known as Force Friday, nary a plot detail has been shared with the world. Disney seems to have us, the fans, in the palm of their hand. And I prefer it that way; the less you show me, the better. My take, if you will. I WANT to be surprised in the theatres.
The marketing continues as today, Disney launched an interactive, virtual 3D world of the planet Jakku; a new planet in the Star Wars universe. Thanks to this Facebook embed, visitors can see and interact with the planet surface, traveling across a landscape of debris that includes the amazing sight of a fallen Star Destroyer.

With this new tiny post that throws you into the Star Wars Universe, again, I am aware how close we are to the release date without having been spoiled. Frankly, I think that was Disney/Lucasfilm’s plan all along. Wny give away the cow when you can get the (blue) milk for free?
Star Wars the Force Awakens hits theatres on December 18th, 2015.
