The movie database website is putting in final arguments before a hearing on an injunction request next week in San Francisco.
Allowing the law would create a slippery slope, the scholars and two First Amendment rights group tell a federal judge.
The injunction would give IMDb time to fight the law while having to comply with it at the same time.
If everyone agrees – and someone actually requests it – IMDb’s attempt to challenge a new California law would be brought into homes everywhere.
The movie database says the law violates free speech, and doesn’t actually help prevent discrimination against actors for how old they are.
