His favorite director, Christopher Nolan, is rumored to be taking over the Bond franchise, which has some wondering if the actor will follow.
Mad Max: Fury Road
‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ star Tom Hardy reassures fans that sequels to director George Miller’s film remain in development.
The painfully slow casting process to cast the young Han Solo spin-off film has finally bore some fruit.
We could be returning to the Wasteland sooner than expected…
Finally we are going to see George Miller’s ultimate version of his action masterpiece…
Time to ride again, shiny and chrome.
Please let this happen.
One of the biggest breakout characters of 2015 was without a doubt, Charlize Theron’s Furiosa from Mad Max: Fury Road, who helped the shepherd the wives’ escape that led to the entire sequence of events in the film, With a metal arm and shaved head, Furiosa was one of the strongest and most complex female characters to ever grace the silver screen. It’s not hard to see why everyone fell in love with her.
Now, there has been talk that Furiosa could return in one of the future Mad Max films, with director George Miller himself even saying that he imagines a moment in the future where she and Max cross paths once again. However, everyone has remained fairly tight-lipped for the time being about it all.
While recently speaking with MTV about The Huntsman: Winter’s War though, Theron did reveal her excitement at the idea of possibly bringing Furiosa back onto the big screen again in the future:
“I would love to bring her back to life, are you kidding?… To have people react to something like that where you went and worked your balls off (laughs), it’s really, really nice, it kind of just puts everything into perspective. I can see how people are responding to her and I look at my little girl and I’m like, ‘Yeah I’d love to play this woman again, definitely.’”
She also went on to comment about Miller’s thoughts on the sequels as well, and his reaction to Fury Road‘s overwhelmingly loving response:
“I haven’t seen George since the Oscars. I think all of this has been really overwhelming for him, and he likes to take his time and he’s very concise. I think if he’s ready, he’ll be ready, and hopefully he’ll call.”
I think at this point, I’m not wrong in putting my blind faith in whatever George Miller wants to do with this franchise moving forwards, and for the record, I did especially love Tom Hardy’s Max in the film as well, and was even more impressed when I remembered who he was taking the role over for. I just hope that, whichever direction he does decide to take the franchise and world of Mad Max next, it might involve Theron’s character in some shape or form.
