Producers of the popular FX anthology series have optioned a second book from O.J. Simpson writer Jeffrey Toobin.

FX was quick to announce the renewal of its popular anthology series this week even before the fourth episode of the current sixth season airs Wednesday.
The cast of Ryan Murphy’s forthcoming horror comedy “Scream Queens” already sounds pretty cool with Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts in the lead roles, but now the cast has some new additions from Fox’s Television Critics Association panel.
Fox has announced that “Glee” star Lea Michele has joined the cast along with “True Blood” regular and Magic Mike stripper Joe Manganiello. In addition, Zombieland star Abigail Breslin and “Masters of Sex” star Keke Palmer will be series regulars as well. There’s no details on their characters, but these are the key players in the 15-episode anthology series’ inaugural season.
In addition, singer Ariana Grande will have a recurring guest star role in the show, but again, details on her character were not revealed. In fact, we still don’t know much about the series at all, other than that it focuses on a college campus which is rocked by a series of murders.
What’s interesting is that the cast of the show is being assembled without them seeing any scripts for the show yet. Gary Newman, co-chair and CEO of Fox Television Group, revealed this at the TCA panel, “They’re primarily coming to work for Ryan, and Ryan is, I’m sure, sitting with them and talking to them about what the characters are going to be and what they’re going to do. But we’re not sending out scripts at this point.”
In fact, Newman also says that he hasn’t even read the scripts for the show yet, so Murphy must have delivered one hell of a pitch for the network to get on board. Speaking of which, the series was originally slated for FX, but it appears the show will be on Fox’s main network now instead.
Production will begin in New Orleans this spring with an eye towards premiering this fall on Fox, hopefully just in time for Halloween.
“Show me the murder!” Cuba Gooding Jr. will play O.J. Simpson for FX’s new anthology crime series.
Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts take the lead roles in “Scream Queens” coming in 2015.
