Team CompLexity Takes Home $400K Payday At 2014 Call Of Duty Championships

Over the weekend, eight of the best teams from around the world converged on Los Angeles for the 2014 Call Of Duty Championships and a piece of the $1M prize pool.

At first, it seemed like it was anyone’s game as last year’s champions, Fariko Impact, disbanded soon after their win and last year’s 2nd place winners, Team EnVyUs, were back and hungry for a win. They were so hungry, they had a 12-map shut out, taking out Team Kaliber, OpTic Gaming, and even the Australian upstarts, the Trident Dotters.

But what they DIDN’T count on was last year’s 4th place team, CompLexity, having a bunch of EPIC karma in the form of Damon “Karma” Barlow, a former member of Fariko Impact who was there to show why he’s one of the best in the world.


At 3pm it was EnVyUs vs. CompLexity for all the marbles and when the smoke cleared an hour later, it was CompLexity who went from 4th place last year to CoD Champs this year. And true to form, they tell iJustine that it’s because of their fans and supporters that they were able to make a comeback from last year to win it all.

EnVyUs may have come up short again this year, but I have a feeling they’ll be back next year ready for blood!

Thanks again for the awesome day, Activision and Xbox! Maybe someday I’ll be there as a competitor, but for now, I’ll keep covering the action and get some awesome pro tips!
