TGIF Super Happy Fun Time: Oh My Dayum

By August 17, 2012

You may not know his name yet…but you know what he thinks of Five Guys.

On August 15th, YouTube personality Daym Drops’ review of his first time at Five Guys Burgers And Fries (think In N’ Out with bacon and spicier fries) got the “Songify This” treatment from Schmoyoho of The Gregory Brothers (a.k.a. Auto-Tune The News). Since then, the video’s gone viral – garnering 1,250,235 in a mere TWO DAYS.

And thanks to a colleague who sent me said video, I am hooked on Daym and his reviews.

Who is Daym Drops? Daym (pronounced “Dame”) Drops is a new school foodie who reviews said food from the comfort of his own car whilst still at the location. Not only will he go and try said things on his own, he also takes suggestions of places to go or foods to try from comments left on his YouTube page; which is exactly what led him to hit a Five Guys for the first time and try the famous burger that changed his life.

Crazy, right? Here’s the thing: even without the Songify This treatment, Drops is really funny all on his own. With a smile that lights up the room and Bootsy Collins-like voice combined with one of the most infectious laughs I’ve ever heard (and not to mention, funny as HELL), Drops really SHOULD have his own show.

Watch this review of the new Nestle Crunch Girl Scout Thin Mint Bites and tell me you don’t agree!

You likey? Be sure to subscribe to his YouTube page and check out his other hilarious reviews (including the one where his teenage daughter completely upstages him)! Feel free to give him names of places to try out, too; after all, that’s what led him to Five Guys in the first place!

Side bar: as someone who’s been to Five Guys (there’s one in Culver City and coming soon, Studio City), I wholeheartedly agree with Drops’ experience. I HIGHLY recommend that place…unless you’re allergic to peanuts, then DO NOT go there as they use peanut oil and there’s a box of loose peanuts for patrons to freely snack on whilst you wait for your brown paper bag o’delights.

Oh my goodness, oh my dayum.
