The Trailer For The Sequel to ‘Cloverfield’ Just Popped Up & Isn’t What You Think

By January 15, 2016

That mystery box is stuffed to the brim.

Out of nowhere, during screenings for Michael Bay’s Thirteen Hours reports were abound that a mysterious JJ Abrams Produced movie had just aired a trailer that confused and excited people. Abrams confirmed there was truth to this madness and this insanely mysterious trailer for Cloverfield 2 actually titled 10 Cloverfield Lane has arrived for your viewing pleasure:

If you expected this, please e-mail me your thoughts on this weeks powerball numbers.

Instead of another found footage monster flick we have John Goodman as the dad from Blast from the Past only even more banana sandwich psycho crazy and he appears to have two people locked in his bunker. Or maybe just the girl is locked there, I don’t know. Either way, she escapes and with her doing so we see our only hopes of seeing a monster movie become possible. Maybe that giant scary seahawk looking Godzilla is out there and stuff is about to get real.

Here’s a poster to go along with the trailer:

CloverfieldI want to stand on this table and start a slow clap! You actually managed to surprise people and keep something secret in 2016. That is exactly the kind of bag over the face the movie world needed. I hope there is a monster, I hope there are 12 monsters and nobody knows it until we go into the theater and get punched in the mouth with monster greatness. Keep the surprises coming Abrams. The world needs it.

How did they do it? Well, originally  the John Goodman, John Gallagher Jr and Mary Elizabeth Winstead film was titled Valencia directed by Dan Trachtenberg. The synopsis read:

Waking up from a car accident, a young woman finds herself in the basement of a man who says he’s saved her life from a chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable.

I love the way you lie. The best part? The film comes out on 3/11/2016! Do you guys think this idea is genius or terrible? Do you think we’ll get to see a monster? The less we know, the better; but if anything else comes up you’ll hear about it right here at GeekNation.
