Telltale Games has announced that the first chapter of its Walking Dead Game Miniseries Michonne will be released February 23rd. Telltale is planning to showcase the first five minutes via their YouTube channel this Sunday. This is not to be confused with their Walking Dead episodic game series either, which has yet to announce the release date for season 3 (GameSpot). ‘Michonne’ will be available on STEAM, PS4/PS3, XBOX ONE/360 via each company’s digital purchase platforms. A release on IOS, Android, and Amazon devices will follow on the 25th. Further release details come directly from the TellTale Blog:

“The second episode in the miniseries, ‘Give No Shelter,’ will follow in the month of March, and conclude with the third episode, ‘What We Deserve,’ in April. All three episodes in the miniseries will be available for purchase at the cost of $14.99 USD or equivalent when the first episode debuts, including access to the second and third episodes as they become available.”

Details of the game’s plot include goodies that will add to the popular comic and television shows lore:

“The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries stars the iconic, blade-wielding character from Robert Kirkman’s best-selling comic books, portrayed in-game by award-winning actress Samira Wiley (Orange is the New Black). Haunted by her past, and coping with unimaginable loss and regret, the story explores Michonne’s absence between issues #126 and #139 of the comic book. Over the three episodes of the miniseries, players will discover what took Michonne away from Rick, Ezekiel, and the rest of her trusted group… and what brought her back.”

What can I say Nation? People love The Walking Dead. This writer is just not one of those people.

I find the Zombie craze a bit played out, but I understand the fascination. The rabid fan base for the comic book series is chomping at the bit for more content and TellTale is promising some pretty awesome game play. With 50 million episodes sold so far too, TellTale is dealing with a bit of a runaway hit right now.

The first episode of The Walking Dead: Michonne will be released on February 23rd.
