‘Thor: Ragnarok’ To Be More Like ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ With Very Little Earth

By December 31, 2015

Talking to Empire  (via ScreenRantMarvel mastermind Kevin Feige dropped some goods on the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok saying:

I dont’ think people will read into that title alone (Ragnarok) what the movie’s going to be. It’s going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we’ve got new characters that will show how big we’re swinging on this. And we have a Hulk.

Nice we have a Hulk quote bomb there Feige! And this is a good thing. Personally I felt Thor 2 lacked a lot of the fun and well cut story that Marvel films typically provide. There was just something missing. This time around we get a brand new Director in Taika Waititi who directed the hilarious What We Do in The Shadows. Oh, and the freaking Hulk. In a buddy-type movie. With Thor. Dreams.

Continuing the awesomeness are other tidbits from Feige:

The film takes place within the cosmos primarily which is to say, frankly, very little Earth

Hammer time can finally go cosmic. The possibilities are endless and maybe we can stop the whole “Hi Jane! Bye Jane!” thing too?  Both Feige and star Chris Hemsworth are apparently looking for a more Guardians of the Galaxy type film this time around and the new Director fits the bill perfectly.

That being said Feige also mentions that this is a very important film in the Marvel Universe. With Hulk, Thor, new hero Valkyrie being introduced and a new villain? Lots of good stuff too look forward to here and I’m way more psyched for Ragnarok than I was previously.

Mostly I can’t wait to see the Lethal Weapon type comedy from the Hulk and Thor. Maybe Shane Black should have saved his Iron Man 3 shenanigans for this flick? That’s another story altogether. Stay tuned to GeekNation for more updates!
