Watch ‘Breaking Bad’ Alternate Spoof Ending and Season 5 Gag Reel

By November 18, 2013

“Yes, no, maybe…I don’t know…can you repeat the question?”

For years, fans have made MANY comparisons between two iconic television fathers – Hal (“Malcolm In The Middle”) and Walter White (“Breaking Bad”) – both of whom just happened to be played by the (BRILLIANT) actor known as Bryan Cranston.

When “Breaking Bad” came to an end earlier this year, fans began to joke that maybe it was all just a nightmare from the mind of Hal.

As part of the upcoming “Breaking Bad: The Complete Series” DVD box set, this spoof ending is a huge nod to the fans and a thank you for all the support. On Saturday, the ending appeared on YouTube and got around 800,000 hits within hours of its posting…and as one who was lucky enough to see it, I gotta tell ya – it was GLORIOUS.

UPDATED: Video clip below. Original article follows.

UNFORTUNATELY, Sony pulled the clip from YouTube (as I was disappointed to discover while writing this very story), so I will give you some highlights!

Hal wakes up from his dream and begins to tell Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) that he dreamed he was bald, had a hot blonde wife (to which Lois snarks “Keep dreaming,”) and cooked meth. Hal goes on to talk about how Hank Schrader “looks like the guy from “The Shield,” and Jesse is “a little guy, a waif, a man-child who always looked like he was wearing his older brother’s clothes.”

I won’t give away ALL the goods but in true “Malcolm” fashion, turns out the very odd dream was brought on by a state fair staple: the deep fried Twinkie.

“Newhart” fans will recognize this as a direct homage to that show’s series finale…

That’s still one of the best show endings around and the “BB” nod to it makes it all the sweeter…but I guess you darlings will have to wait for the box set.

In the meantime, you can check out the season 5 gag reel below (until Sony decides to pull that from the internet, too):

Until next time, Heisenberg.
