Watch The Trailer For The ‘Cabin Fever’ Reboot Produced By Eli Roth

By January 30, 2016

If you haven’t heard about this by now, you’re probably confused. Let me help…

They are re-booting 2002’s Cabin Fever already. It’s going to be almost a word for word remake of the original and will even be produced by the director of the original, Eli Roth. Don’t ask me to tell you why they are remaking a film that’s not even 20 years old because I really can’t explain it. At the same time (for some reason) I can’t wait to watch it either, for better or worse.

The original, love it or hate it, was a horror bloodbath of insanity. From moments of actual fear to stupid comedy all the way down to gore of a legendary status; Cabin Fever borrows from a lot of other films and still manages to stand out (for better or worse, depending on the viewer. I personally loved it.)

Eli Roth says he was “blown away” by the remake which hits limited theaters in New York and Los Angeles as well as Digital HD on February 12th, 2016. Check out the trailer for yourself below (just don’t watch it while shaving your legs):

That gross looking  dog seems new and like it’s going to do gross things to people; so there’s that…

Coming from a guy who loved the over the top cast from first film that included Rider Strong and Joey Kern, it’s hard to imagine this cast being quite as fun. That being said, I look forward to revisiting a batcrap crazy film through another directors eyes (and yes, I’m fully aware that I might regret it).

New director Travis Zariwny acted as producer on films such as the forever underrated Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon; yet doesn’t have a whole lot of films under his director belt. Lots of possible good, lots of possible bad here, guys. Either way, we’ll be standing by with any updates, right here on GeekNation.

The Dad to a superhero little girl with another on the way, Mike's also written for a few cool websites and talked for a few more. Also, Mike cries like a school girl every time he watches 'Rocky.'
