Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy and Robin Thicke Duet For ‘Anchorman 2’ Soundtrack

By December 10, 2013

The first track from the Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues has been released and it’s a duet between the legend himself and recent Grammy-nominee, Robin Thicke. The song in question? Christopher Cross’ “Ride Like the Wind” …I know. I’m already salivating at the idea of those two taking on that Light FM classic.

Now naturally, Thicke takes on most of the singing duties, while Ron Burgundy brings grunting and hilarious asides to the mix. Did I mention the flute? Of course there’s light rock flute. It’s Ron Burgundy!

Burgundy sets the mood with his vamping over the intro:

“Mr. Robin Thicke…any minute now…allright…here we go…take it away. You’re riding like the wind, for those who don’t know.”

And there’s also a stellar Ron Burgundy monologue over the bridge:

“That’s right, folks. When Ron Burgundy rides, he rides like the wind — not like a Subaru or a golf cart, like the God darn wind, powerful and sleek and invisible. Feel that draft up your skirt, ladies? That’s me. Okay, that was creepy, I’m sorry”

Reportedly there is a music video in the works, but for now we can enjoy the audio track. You can close your eyes and imagine how hilarious that music video’s going to be if you want. I actually highly recommend that.

What do you think of the duet? Are you ready for the movie to come out already?
