It’s been rumored for a long while now, makes perfect sense and now, seems to be true. Looks like Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is back in the mix for X-Men: Apocalypse, a new report suggests from Comic Book (via Le Journal de Montréal).
From Le Journal:
X-Men: Apocalypse is headed back to Montreal in January for reshoots. They’ll spend a few weeks shooting at Mel’s Studio, which is the same location production used earlier this year for principal photography. [EDIT] It seems that Hugh Jackman will be on hand.
Though there is not much bite to the article in regards to facts and/or specifics on the role and what Jackman’s Logan will add to the movie, the reasoning behind this from a story point of view, all makes sense. Wolverine was an instrumental part in the previous chapter of the X-Men franchise with Days of Future Past, and as a fan of Jackman, director Bryan Singer and the X-Men franchise itself since its amazing previous chapter, I want all of this to happen. Before Wolverine and Jackman take that final bow with the third standalone Wolverine movie, I’m loving the idea that Apocalypse will incorporate the most popular mutant into (one of) the most popular storylines from the comics.
X-Men: Apocalypse is directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men, X2, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and is written by Simon Kinberg. The movie will star Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Olivia Munn, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters and Rose Byrne.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27, 2016.
