You Can Now Add Deathstroke to The List of Comic Book Roles Ron Perlman Wants to Play

By September 1, 2016

Ron Perlman hasn’t necessarily been subtle about wanting to join in one of the current comic book universes going on right now, after the future of the Hellboy franchise took a turn for the worse over the past few years. Whether it be his social media posts about playing Cable, Swamp Thing, and more, though it looks like he’s added yet another name to his wish list, and one that’s only recently entered into the conversation.

Following Ben Affleck’s reveal that Slade Wilson/Deathstroke would be in next year’s Justice League, and the reveal that he’d also be the main antagonist in the actor’s solo Batman film as well, Perlman recently retweeted a fan, who believes that Perlman would be the right actor to play the character onscreen.

Taking the video from Affleck’s account, and overdubbing it with a monologue that Perlman himself actually gave as Slade Wilson to Robin in the Teen Titans animated series, Perlman retweeted the mash-up saying, “Mr BatFleck’s case.” (Referring to the Twitter user who created the video). Check it out below:

There’s no denying how effective this mash-up is, and Perlman’s delivery as the character is pretty incredible. With that being said though,  I feel like Perlman is a bit too old to play Deathstroke in the DCEU right now, especially with actors like Joe Mangianello being rumored for the character currently. I’d be more comfortable with Perlman as Cable, though at this point, I feel like he’ll be happy with whatever comic book role he gets.

Justice League is set to hit theatres on November 17th, 2017.
