Zack Snyder Allegedly Shares New ‘Batman v Superman’ Image Featuring Bruce Wayne

By August 4, 2015

In the past, director Zack Snyder has sometimes shared photos from his private Instagram account to whet the appetites of fans for his upcoming projects, and it looks like one new image may have gotten out.

According to IGN, Snyder shared a new image to the page that seems to show a solitary Bruce Wayne (played by Ben Affleck) walking through a desolate field underneath a grey sky. See the image below.

The image doesn’t reveal much, but it does give a continued idea of where Bruce Wayne’s mind is at by the time Batman v Superman begins. We already know from the recently released trailer that he was in Metropolis as the battle between Superman and General Zod broke out, and that a dozen people were killed in the city’s Wayne Finacnial building as Bruce himself ran into the pluming cloud of dust from the destruction caused by the fight. While Snyder previously said that Batman v Superman will be tonally based on Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns from 1986, the recent pre-release material seems to give the overall impression that Batman has suffered a lot of loss — resulting in a lot of pain — from his 20-year career in Gotham.

One of the things that Batman v Superman will be doing differently is separating the ages of Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent. In most depictions, they’re shown to be around the same age when they begin their respective heroic careers. While the DC Animated Universe — comprised of shows like “Batman: The Animated Series,” “Superman: The Animated Series,” and “Justice League” — also had Batman begin his career as much as 10 years before Superman’s arrival, Dawn of Justice is taking things a step further by making Batman even more significantly experienced than the Man of Steel.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit theaters on March 25th, 2016. For more on the film as it continues to take shape, keep it locked on GeekNation!
