Happy Valentine’s Day: 10 Best Fictional Couples

By February 12, 2013

Valentine’s Day is Thursday, so it got me thinking all about my favorite fictional couples and their dramatic love stories. Why can’t I have a dramatic love story? Oh well, my love story might not be that interesting but at least it’s real! Here’s a look at the couples in love, I love the most.

Buffy and Angel

Even loyal Team Spike member’s hearts were broken after watching the Angel episode I Will Remember You. Damn those Oracles!  At least they had a night to remember. Well, Angel anyway.

Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger

I love these two together so much. Friggin’ adorable.  My second favorite Harry Potter romance after Snape and Lily Potter. I didn’t pick that one though because it’s so damn tragically friendzone.

Westley and Buttercup

It’s like a rule that everyone has to love this movie, right? I think every woman wants a man who says ‘As you wish!’  to every request they make.  Fairy tales…giving women unreasonably high expectations since like forever.

Harold and Maude

This is one of my all time favorite movies and all time favorite screen romances. Pretty much one of the only May/December romances that doesn’t completely gross me out.

Aragorn and Arwen

She gave up immortality to be with him!!! I mean come on!  I’d give up immortality for Aragorn too, but I’d want Boromir thrown into the deal. Just a sick fantasy I have.

Sookie and Eric

Hopefully the rise of Billith will prevent any further delaying of a full blown Sookie/Eric romance. Because I need to see more naked Eric. I mean sensitive Eric.

Jack Twist and Ennis Del Mar

After I saw this movie,  I felt destroyed. The worst thing ever is true love that can never be.  I can’t think about this one too much or I’ll start snot-crying all over my keyboard and that would be an embarrassing Genius Bar visit.

Tim Canterbury and Dawn Tinsley

I’m totally not an American version of The Office hater. Jim and Pam are cute. But the Brit version is just superior. Holy crap did I flip out when Tim and Dawn kissed at the Christmas party. It was just so…real. And so ‘a long time coming’.

Kevin Arnold and Winnie Cooper

The childhood romance we all wished we had. Heck, a lot of people would be happy with a relationship like this as an adult. The great soundtrack helped make everything more powerful. Case in point:

I need Bob Seger to be my love life’s soundtrack.

Penny Widmore and Desmond Hume

The phone call between Desmond and Penny was second only to Charlie’s death when it came to things on Lost that made me cry so hard I couldn’t breath. Am I the only one who misses Lost?

Han Solo and Princess Leia

The most badass and smartass couple ever. These two probably have some seriously good makeup sex. Don’t worry I’m not writing any lurid fan fiction on the subject. But others probably are.

Who’s your favorite fictional couple? Let us now in the comments!
