10 Best Super Bowl Commercials Of All Time

By February 1, 2013

I think we can all agree that commercials suck. Unless they’re Super Bowl commercials. Then they have a pretty good chance of creating iconic moments, viral catchphrases and sometimes are so memorable that they even outshine the big game itself. Here’s a look at 10 of the all time best Super Bowl commercials!

Volkswagen’s ‘The Force’ (2011)

Who among us has not dreamed of using the power of The Force to do everyday tasks? This kid’s reaction is priceless. I would love to know that kind of joy.

Budweiser’s ‘Never Forget’ Tribute (2002)

Oh man I remember seeing this one for the first time. And after rewatching it just now, I’m snot-crying all over again. Serious throat lumpville.

Old Spice’s ‘The Man Your Man Could Smell Like’ (2010)

This has got to be one of the most random commercials ever made. I mean it’s not gonna make me buy Old Spice any time soon, but I appreciate the marketing effort.

Budweiser’s ‘Wassup’ (2000)

Okay, this catchphrase got annoying pretty fast, but it had its moment when it was kind of strangely funny. It was a short moment, but a moment nonetheless.

Apple’s ‘1984’ (1984)

George Orwell’s 1984? Ridley Scott? Badass female runner making all hell break loose? Best. Ad. Ever.

Reebok’s ‘Terry Tate, Office Linebacker’ (2003)

If this ad doesn’t make you laugh then your funny bone was probably broken by the ‘Pain Train’.

Coke’s ‘Mean Joe Greene’ (1979)

This has got to be in the commercial Hall of Fame. Awwww…’Mean’ Joe Green isn’t that mean after all! I bet all the players who had felt his wrath on the field wished they had given him a Coke first. On a side note…Coke in the bottle is superior to all other forms of Coke.

Monster.com’s ‘What Do You Want to Be’ (1999)

Simultaneously hilarious and depressing. My favorite combination.

Wendy’s ‘Where’s the Beef?’ (1984)

Okay, this is a catchphrase that I’ve never grown tired off. I’m glad to hear it’s making a comeback via the Burger King horse meat scandal.

Bud Light’s ‘Jackie Moon’ (2008)

Straight up belly laugh time. The perfect beer for blowing out the pipes indeed!

Okay and as a bonus here is our very own Film Pig Todd @tonnslingdog in this classic Superbowl Ad from the year 2000.
