Holy what!? SXSW is almost upon us and this year’s Midnight screenings have finally been announced! For those of you NOT in the know, The Midnighters is the amazing section of the festival mostly geared to genre nuts and cult film nerds. These are the films that will most likely be raved about on the internets throughout the year once they hit your local theaters and your On Demands.
What’s notable here is the inclusion of, Mike Mendez’ much anticipated Big Ass Spider. This film has been in the works for a while now and it is finally slated for a World Premiere at what I can only imagine is going to be one kick ass event. And if that doesn’t make you excited, GeekNation’s very own Clare Kramer is one of the film’s stars!
Also featured in the Midnight section are Rob Zombie’s new one, that sequel to last year’s V/H/S everyone’s already talking about and a little buzzed about genre film that’s been two years in the making: You’re Next!
Enough jibber jabber, read on for the full details!

With so many amazing films being screened, it’s kind of nuts to think there’s also an interactive side and a music side to this week long shindig. If you’re planning on attending this year, do me a favor and check out these awesome films and while you’re there, eat some dang BBQ! Do it for me.
And if not for me, do it for yourself!
