‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ Director Says The Film Will Feature “Things You’ve Never Seen in a Movie Before”

By April 13, 2016

One of the few notable omissions from Captain America: Civil War was Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp, despite the inclusion of Paul Rudd’s Scott Lange/Ant-Man. Marvel head honcho, Kevin Feige, later went on to say that they chose to save the iconic character’s reveal for the 2018 Ant-Man sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, which she will get the chance to be a co-lead in.

Now, while recently speaking on the Civil War blue carpet, the film’s director Peyton Reed briefly teased the sequel’s scope and story, saying that it will feature things that audiences have never seen in a movie before (via ComingSoon.net).

Check out his full quote below:

“We’re hard at work writing the movie right now. So we’ve been holed up in a room, Paul Rudd, myself, Adam McKay, Gabriel Ferrari, and Andrew Barrer, who are our writers. So we’re all brainstorming the story. I think the only thing I can tell you with certainty at this point, because we’re still about two years away from the movie coming out, is that it’s going to have stuff in it that you’ve never ever seen in a movie before.”

Considering that I’m one of the moviegoers that really loved Ant-Man, I’m legitimately excited for the upcoming sequel. Aside from the fact that it will be the first Marvel movie with a female superhero in the title, I’m looking forward to just seeing more of Rudd’s Scott Lang, after he managed to be one of the standouts in Civil War, and is one of the most genuinely lovable heroes in the MCU right now.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to hit theatres on July 6th, 2018.
