Although we’ve been hearing a lot of rumors and speculation surrounding the eventual release of the first trailer for Warner Bros.’ superhero team-up film, we haven’t heard anything resembling a rock-solid bit of information until today.
According to Variety, audiences attending movies in IMAX screens this coming Monday will be the first to see the full-length first trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Zack Snyder himself confirmed that this would be happening in a tweet made last night, which you can see below, including the briefest glimpse at the film’s Batsuit.

To see if tickets to the event are available in your area, visit the film’s official website and sign up for a free pass. Locations are limited, though, even in quite a few major markets. Chicago, for instance — a city that the film was partially shot in — doesn’t seem to have a theater hosting the event.
Batman v Superman will directly follow upon the events of 2013’s Man of Steel, WB’s reboot of the Superman film franchise, also directed by Snyder and starring Cavill. Announced at Comic Con International 2013, the film is expected to be the opening shot in a new, DC Comics-based cinematic universe, which will then be expanded further four months later with the release of Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer and starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Jared Leto as the Joker.
Production on Batman v Superman has been happening very solidly for nearly two years, with the only footage shown to the public being a brief glimpse at the promised fight between DC’s two most iconic characters last year at Hall H in San Diego. Rumors have been persisting for months about when the first trailer would arrive, with all of those rumors having previously come up short. Time will tell if this will be one of those instances, as well.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will also star Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, and will feature cameos from Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. It will open in theaters — hopefully after we’ve at least seen a couple of trailers — on March 25th, 2016. For more on this as it develops, keep it locked on GeekNation!
