Deadpool has never made a secret about his love not just for Wolverine, but for the actor behind Wolverine, Hugh Jackman. And now that Deadpool himself is quite famous thanks to this past year’s Deadpool, is there a possibility the two might re-unite in what could be Wolverine’s final film, Logan?
Hollywood trade publication The Wrap recently suggested Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds had filmed a scene for the X-Men solo film, which hits theaters in March. But Logan director James Mangold denied that report a bit hard, even going as far as calling the news outlet the purveyor of “fake news.”

The director, who’s probably best known for 3:10 to Yuma and Walk the Line, even blasted The Wrap’s attempt to update their original report, comparing the outlet to the conservative news site Breitbart.
First @TheWrap reports a falsity. $$. Then they report my denial as a whole new story. $$! How about you just take down the original lie?

Reynolds himself also denied making an appearance in Logan, although he has talked about his desire to see Wolverine and Deadpool get together again. In a tweet, Reynolds talked about Jackman in reference to his character in 2012’s Les Miserables.
Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission. https://t.co/5czBmMRfY1

Jackman joined in as well, but his response was far more simple.

Logan, which is reportedly set in a bleak future for Wolverine, debuts March 3.
