Epic First ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ TV Spot Hits The Web

By November 8, 2015

For those of you who are trying to remain in the dark, who are done with all of the marketing, who refuse to click on anything Star Wars related in the even that you get spoiled by something… yeah, this post is not for you! Needless to say, this post could be considered spoilery to some!

Disney and Lucasfilm have started their full throttle assault on the general public, you know, the two or so people out there that have no idea that there’s a new Star Wars film headed to theaters, with the release of the first official TV spot. Like the recent international trailer for The Force Awakens, this TV spot does contain new footage from the film. (You’ve been warned!). Check it out, courtesy of Twitter’s official Twitter account:

Okay, so how awesome have the shots of the Millennium Falcon been? She is one badass ship, that’s for sure. While there was nothing too revealing in the actual imagery, I find that the voice-over by Lupita Nyong’o’s character kind of took care of that. Sure, it may be a bit of misdirection to throw us off (because we all know what J.J. and his team are capable of), but it really seems to me that this spot confirmed that Rey is in fact a Solo. It’s been my theory all along, (with a slight outside chance the she was Luke’s) and it doesn’t surprise me that the studio is heavily hinting at it now, while trying to appeal to the general public. It, coupled with the tagline “Every generation has a story” shows that this is a continuation of the Skywalker saga. That’s an important bit of information for those that don’t live and breathe Star Wars. (I know it’s hard to believe, but there are some people out there who’ve never seen the original films!). This film has really been marketed to perfection, so far. Let’s hope the next month or so goes by quickly so we can finally see the film in all it’s epic, glory.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set for release on Friday December 18, 2015.
