Exclusive: ’23 Jump Street’ and ‘Men in Black’ Crossover Director Teases What To Expect From the Film

By May 23, 2016

Maybe one of the strangest projects/crossovers in development in Hollywood right now, is Sony’s announced and planned crossover between the 23 Jump Street and Men in Black franchises, which has just recently been revealed to be called, MIB 23. Not much is known about the project right now either, other than that it will see characters or figures from the two franchises crossing paths in some way. That’s basically all we know right now anyways.

While promoting his newest film, Alice Through the Looking Glass though, I had the chance to sit down and speak with director James Bobin about the film, and while you can expect to read the full interview later this week, I thought I might go ahead and release this brief snippet from our conversation, in which I asked him specifically about MIB 23.

Check out what he had to say below:

I have to ask you, about the Men in Black and 23 Jump Street crossover, which boggles my mind by the way.

Good! Good. Mind-boggling is a good way to describe it. Thank you very much, I’ll have to use that.

What can you tell me about the film?

Very little cause it’s super early. But all I can say is that I’ve read the script and it works and it’s gonna be exactly the film you hoped it would be [Laughs]!

At this point, all I want from the film is for there to be a scene when Schmidt and Jenko (Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill) get their memories erased by a couple of MIB agents, and predictably, have the kind of freak out you might expect those two to have. If I get that, then I’ll probably be more than happy with this crossover.

MIB 23 does not currently have a release date.
