‘Fantastic Beasts’ May Feature the Appearance of This Beloved ‘Harry Potter’ Character

By April 19, 2016

There were always questions amongst the Harry Potter fan community in regards to what kinds of references or characters might be appearing in this year’s new spin-off film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and if we should even expect any character appearances or not.

Then the latest trailer for the film was released last week, and in addition to a number of exciting visuals, the teaser also featured a brief, but memorable mention of none other than our favorite Hogwarts Headmaster himself, Albus Dumbledore, and his certain fondness for Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander.

While recently speaking with MTV as well, two of the film’s cast members, Dan Fogler and Alison Sudol, hinted that the film would not only feature more references to Dumbledore as a character BUT could also feature a brief appearance of the young Transfiguration professor as well:

“As the stories go along, you will hear mention of your favorite characters. And you may meet their young counterparts along the way.”

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until November 18th to find out if Sudol and Fogler just revealed a legitimate possibility in the film, or are just having a lot of fun teasing fans.

Even so, it seems like the new spin-off films themselves may not be as afraid or hesitant to include characters from the original franchise as we might have thought, and while the idea of seeing a young Dumbledore on film brings up a number of questions (namely – who would they get to play him?), the idea of possibly seeing a familiar face or two in the new film should make all of you fellow Potterheads out there giddy with excitement. I know I am.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set to hit theatres on November 18th.
