First ‘Doctor Strange’ Poster Takes You Inside The Sanctum Sanctorum

By April 12, 2016

With the first trailer for Marvel’s Doctor Strange set to premiere later tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the studio has officially unveiled the first teaser poster for the film online (via Twitter), that gives us an interesting new look at the Sorcerer Supreme standing inside of his Sanctum Sanctorum, which we’ve gotten brief glimpses at previously through set images and concept art.

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Mads Mikkelsen, Michael Stuhlbarg, Amy Landecker, and more, the film will follow renowned neurosurgeon Stephen Strange, who after losing the ability to perform surgery after a tragic accident, seeks to learn the ways of the mystical arts and defend Earth from various villainous mystical beings.

I’ve already talked my mouth off enough about how excited I am for the film, and after hearing some inside details about it as well, I think it’s safe to say that Marvel is looking to venture into completely unknown territory with the film here. With a cast that seems more fitting for a Best Picture contender than the usual comic book movie adaptation too, along with setting a longtime horror movie director at the helm – it’s clear that the studio has at least packed the film with best kind of talent possible.

We’ll only have to wait a few more hours too, before we finally see what Marvel, Scott Derrickson, and co. have been cooking up with this one. So if you weren’t already, I’d say it’s about damn time to start getting excited.

Doctor Strange is set to hit theatres on November 4th.
