Harrison Ford Praises ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, New Cast, & Discusses Luke Skywalker

By October 30, 2015

Harrison Ford had a pretty awesome appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night during the show’s official 2015 Halloween episode, and talked about breaking his ankle on the set of The Force Awakens, his tragic plane crash earlier this year, and of course, shared his thoughts on J.J. Abrams’ newest addition of the Star Wars franchise. It should also be noted that while Kimmel himself opted for a Princess Leia costume, Ford dressed as a dog inside of a hot dog costume…

I’ll admit – I would have never guessed I’d see that in my lifetime.

The talk show host didn’t waste much time talking about Force Awakens and while Ford refused to give away any new details or spoilers, he did openly praise the film and its cast, promising that it will not disappoint the fans, like the last three prequel films may have. Oh, and he was asked about Luke Skywalker’s absence from the poster, saying that there is a “very good reason” he hasn’t been included in the promotional material for the film so far.

Check out the interview below:

It’s hard not to watch the video and at least get chills I think when he promises that the film will live up to our expectations, and while it’s unlikely he’d say anything else, hearing it come from Han Solo’s mouth just seems to make our excitement even more valid. Especially considering how skeptical and frustrated he’s been known to become over the years while discussing the films. I guess Star Wars really does bring out a specific kind of levity and joy in everyone after all – including the people in the films themselves.

Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens is set to hit theatres on December 18th.
