‘Hot Tub Time Machine 2’ Predicts Who Will Take Over ‘The Daily Show’

By February 12, 2015

Fans of “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central had their world rocked earlier this week when Jon Stewart announced that he would be leaving the show after 16 years. Many have been wondering who will replace the comedian, and it looks like we have an answer.

On February 20th, the time travel comedy Hot Tub Time Machine 2 hits theaters, and in the film they go to the year 2025. If you’ve seen the trailer, and you’re a fan of “The Daily Show,” you might have noticed that we get a glimpse of the news satire show’s opening titles to enlighten our leads(Clark Duke, Craig Robinson and Rob Corddry) to the fact that they have traveled to the future in the year 2025. And it just so happens the show has a new host in 10 years:

That’s right, Jessica Williams is the host of “The Daily Show” in 2015. What’s cool is that this was filmed last year, before Jon Stewart leaving “The Daily Show” was actually news. Unsurprisingly enough, Williams has actually been named as a favorite candidate for the show, especially since many are keen on seeing someone other than another white male take the late night gig.

Honestly, out of all the potential correspondents from “The Daily Show,” Williams would be my favorite candidate. She’s lively, funny, charismatic and smart as hell. And it would be a nice change of pace from the normal names considered for this kind of job. But we’re sure Comedy Central has a whole list of people they’re considering to take over the show, and we don’t even know when Jon Stewart is leaving yet.

In the meantime, we’ll just have to enjoy this timely future prediction from Hot Tub Time Machine 2. That’s not the only entertainment glimpse we get from the year 2025, because Hot Tub Time Machine 2 also shows us this weird game show hosted by Christian Slater:

has to be some kind of subconcious thing going on! lol

I do love her but I just don’t feel like she has the gravity yet for the role. One of the roles of the person behind the desk is to be the straight person to the crazy of the world and the correspondents. I actually really want them to do a rotation of all the correspondents and give them all a chance to show us their skills.
