Looks Like ‘Lucifer’ May Have Finally Found God

By January 24, 2017

Fox’s Lucifer apparently has been looking for God for a long time. And now the devil himself might have found him.

Timothy Omundson of Psych and Galavant fame has landed a guest spot on the Tom Ellis series. Right now it’s just for a single episode this spring, according to Entertainment Weekly, but who’s to say it might not be more next season.

Omundson “will play God Johnson, a patient in a psychiatric hospital, who is charming, enigmatic, and oh yeah, he thinks he’s the one and only God Almighty.

“But, as Lucifer tries to prove him a phone, he comes to find out that ‘God Johnson’ seems to know things that only Lucifer’s true father would know. Could he really be the Big Guy Upstairs?”

Omundson played Det. Carlton Lassiter on USA Network’s Psych from 2006 to 2014, and later portrayed King Richard in the comedy musical Galavant on ABC. He’s also made guest spots along the way on shows like JerichoWarehouse 13Supernatural as well as lend his voice to the massively multiplayer online roleplaying game Star Wars: The Old Republic.

He’s also finished work on the animated film Woody Woodpecker as well as the Francis Stokes comedy Wild Honey.

Lucifer airs Mondays on Fox, but after next week will take a break until May when Omundson is expected to pop up at some point.

The series also stars Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, D.B. Woodside and Lesley-Ann Brandt. It’s based on characters from the comic book series The Sandman from Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith and Mike Dringenberg.
