Marvel’s ‘Luke Cage’ First Teaser Trailer Revealed

By March 18, 2016

For those of you binge-watching the entire second season of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix today, you might want to stick around after the finale episode for a little surprise.

While the video itself isn’t currently available for embed, Netflix has revealed the very first trailer for the next season in The Defenders lineup, with a 20 second teaser trailer for the first season of Luke Cage, which will debut on the streaming service on September 30th.

The clip itself features the titular Defender, played by Mike Colter, entering into a boxing ring and facing down a full line of armed men. “I guess you guys haven’t heard about me,” he says, right before the men light up the entire room with bullets. Of course, as fans of the character can probably guess though, the bullets do no damage to Cage, with his impenetrable skin.

His response to just getting fired at? “I’m about sick of having to buy new clothes.”

The teaser obviously isn’t much, but it seems to perfectly encapsulate the character nonetheless, with the strength and power mixed with some sarcastic humor. After making his introduction in the first season of Jessica Jones last year too, it looks like Luke Cage is going to relish having the spotlight on him this time around, and yeah, Colter seems just as perfect in the role as he did last year too.

The Luke Cage series is the third original series in Marvel and Netflix’s Defenders lineup, after Jessica Jones and Daredevil, with Iron Fist set to follow, who’s lead star was just recently cast as well. With about five months left until the Luke Cage premiere as well, it looks like The Defenders is starting to shape up quite nicely now.

Luke Cage will premiere on Netflix on September 30th.

I liked His Character in Jessica Jones but didn’t think there was enough to get a series out of!
