Melissa McCarthy/Paul Feig Comedy, ‘Spy’, Adds Allison Janney And Morena Baccarin To The Cast

By May 1, 2014

The cast of Paul Feig’s comedy, Spy, which will star Melissa McCarthy, is just getting better and better!  It was announced yesterday that “Homeland”‘s Morena Baccarin is joing the spy-spoof comedy. The Emmy-nominated Baccarin will play Karen Walker, who is, you guessed it a spy. I’m guessing her “Homeland” experience will come in handy. I for one am excited to see if Baccarin has comedic chops that are as stellar as her dramatic ones. I’m guessing she does if she was cast to go toe-to-toe with McCarthy!

In addition to Baccarin we also know now that Allison Janney will be playing top CIA agent Elaine Crocker in the movie. Personally,I’m always on board for Allison Janney to be in anything. So…YAY!

65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals

Janney and Baccarin will be joining an already  star-studded cast that includes Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, Rose Byrne, Jude Law, Bobby Cannavale, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Miranda Hart.  With all that talent and  a script written by director Paul Feig, I’m thinking we have another comedy blockbuster on our hands.

Filming began last month in Budapest and Spy is set to be released on Memorial Day in 2015.
