Not Your Mom’s Paintings: Epic Art Makeovers Feature Stormtroopers and Zombies

By November 1, 2013

I’ve always held the belief that we all need a little art culture in our lives; luckily for me, artists George Pfau and Jeff Bennett agree with their take on the Impressionism and “Kitsch” movements (respectively).

Artist George Pfau has taken the Impressionism genre and turned it on its ear with his new series, “Zombies In The Landscape”, where he takes moments from beloved zombies and films like Dawn Of The Dead (below) and gives it some broad strokes to make it over-the-mantelpiece worthy!

Nice, right?! Wanna see more? No problem! Peep the rest of this series!

OMG, I totes want this Shaun Of The Dead painting…

I’d SO put this over the mantelpiece…even the BIGGEST art snob has to appreciate the nod to the craft.

But if Impressionism isn’t your bag, there’s always artist Jeff Bennett’s Star Wars-style take on Thomas Kincade

Straight up, these are the dopest things I’ve ever seen and I want to own every single one of them!

That’s a seriously big doggie.

As you can see, art CAN be fun – so get out there and get some culture!

UBER thanks to FEARnet and Geekologie for sharing these with the world!
