Pamela Anderson Announced to Star In ‘Baywatch’ Reboot

By April 22, 2016

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – The Rock has the ability to make people excited for any movie that he’s involved in. Whether it be movies like the Fast and Furious franchise, Shazam!, and I guess… even a Baywatch reboot, which will be taking the familiar property and reimagining it as a raunchy beach comedy. The cast is pretty good too.

After announcing that original Baywatch cast member, David Hasselhoff, would be returning in the reboot as well, The Rock has just announced the return and inclusion of yet another one of the original Baywatch stars in the new film.

Despite previously voicing her displeasure in the new reboot, it looks like Pamela Anderson will be returning in the reboot, as revealed in an Instagram post by The Rock (see the image above). Here’s what Johnson had to say about the news as well:

She introduced the world to “CJ Parker” and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation – for the most successful TV show of all time. A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #BAYWATCH cast. We couldn’t have made this movie without you. Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us! #BAYWATCH MAY 19, 2017. #PamAnderson #OS #OriginalSmokestack

Buzz from the footage shown at this year’s CinemaCon seemed to be mixed, between those who liked the new style of humor, and those who don’t. The cast for the movie is fairly stellar throughout though, and turning the Baywatch property into a much more mainstream comedy, could help it to become a promising summer outing next year. Plus, it’s got a lot of attractive movie stars running around on the beach half naked, so that’ll probably help it to be successful as well. I guess.

Baywatch will hit theatres on May 19th, 2017.
