Rumor: ‘Deadpool’ Sequel to Introduce Another ‘X-Force’ Team Member

By February 26, 2016

As attentive fans are already aware, not only was a Deadpool sequel confirmed a few weeks ago before the movie’s massive box office success, but Cable has also been confirmed for the sequel as well, in a sneaky end tag after the film’s credits. There’s no word yet on what else we can expect from the highly-anticipated sequel, though it’s safe to say that after what the filmmakers were able to get away with in the first film, the possibilities are practically endless at this point.

As you can probably imagine as well, Cable probably won’t be the only comic book character that gets a proper introduction to the X-Men universe in the Deadpool sequel, and it looks like the filmmakers could be planning on bringing in yet another iconic X-Force character in the sequel.

According to a new report from Heroic Hollywood, Domino is reportedly one of the new mutants set to make her onscreen debut in the film, and considering her relationship with Cable in the comics, it’s not hard to believe. One of the two surviving members of Project Armageddon, which sought to make human weapons out of female mutants, Domino’s powers include extremely skilled marksmanship and hand-to-hand combat skills, as well as the ability to manipulate probability.

She eventual teamed up with The Six Pack in the comics, where she and Cable first met and at one point developed a romantic relationship. She also maintains a flirtatious relationship with Deadpool in the comics, although it’s never really gone anywhere. It should also be mentioned that this should be taken with only a grain of salt, since nothing has been confirmed for the moment. So as of right now, treat this as only a rumor. Even if it’s one that makes a lot of sense.

After the studio sidelined their X-Force film for Deadpool, Reynolds has come out and said that getting an X-Force movie made is one of his main priorities right now, and introducing two of the comic’s most iconic characters in a Deadpool sequel could just be the first step to getting the film into theaters finally. With the X-Men universe continually evolving and growing right now as well, it’s about damn time.

Deadpool 2 is currently in development.
