‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Set Photos Catch Peter Parker in Costume

By June 29, 2016

Following his onscreen introduction this year in Captain America: Civil War, the hype and excitement surrounding Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man is the highest it’s been in quite a long time. Now as production on next year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming continues in Atlanta, GA right now, it looks like some new set photos from the movie have arrived, following the small initial batch last week.

Unlike the previous images though, which featured Holland’s Parker as well as several of the film’s other high school characters dressed in normal, civilian clothes, the new photos focus entirely on Holland in costume as Spider-Man filming some kind of action or investigation scene it looks like.

The new photos come from Looper, and while the context of the images themselves are unknown right now, they do feature Peter in costume as Spider-Man, with his high school backpack strewn across his back as he jumps onto the back of a cement truck. The report does state that the scene itself happens during a school field trip with Peter and the rest of his class to Washington D.C., though no official details have been revealed, so take all of that with a grain of salt for the time being.

The images of Holland standing there as Spider-Man though, with a school backpack on, seem like something ripped directly from the pages of a comic book and fit in line with what we’ve heard about the movie’s coming-of-age story feel, and the focus that’s being paid to Peter’s high school years in specific this time around.

Details about the movie have been kept under tight wraps over the past few weeks, with a large majority of the cast playing currently unknown or unconfirmed characters for the time being. The rumors seem to suggest some possible confirmations at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, though no official announcements have been made yet. Until then, let your speculating minds feel free to run wild with these images, and what kind of trouble you think Peter might find himself in (if these rumors turn out to be true) in Washington D.C..

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to swing into theatres on July 7th, 2017.
