‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Poster Teases Interesting New Developments

By October 18, 2015

After many long, long days with fans wondering when the new trailer or image from this year’s Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens would be revealed, Lucasfilm and Disney have officially released the final poster for the film online. The poster features many of the characters fans have already seen in the previous trailers, including Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and a new look at Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) with her new, Star Wars-esque hairdo.

One of the more notable omissions from the poster is Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker though, and it looks like the studio is planning on keeping as much mystery surrounding the character as possible, much like many of the fans have rumored over the past few months, and I wouldn’t expect him to show up in tomorrow’s trailer either.

Check out the official poster below:

forceawakens-finalposterAlso – what is that gorgeously-dangerous looking thing in the top right corner? It looks reminiscent of the Death Star obviously, and is it possible that this is the dangerous weapon General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson) and his crew have been working on from Starkiller Base? Once again, the poster has managed to not only answer next-to-none of our previous questions, but has instead raised a whole lot of new ones. I’d be willing to bet that the new trailer will do the same as well, and it looks like we still don’t know what to fully expect from this one in December.

The poster itself is a fairly awesome homage to the posters of some of the previous films, while mixing in some new elements as well, much like how The Force Awakens is handling its story from what it looks like. With this now revealed and tickets set to go on sale tomorrow too – it’ll be interesting to see what J.J. Abrams and the promotional team at Disney are planning on revealing in tomorrow’s trailer as well.

Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens is set to hit theatres on December 18th.
